Members Boats – Inspiration for the faint hearted?

This is a collection, in no particular order, of Boats our Boys and Girls have built. If you can’t see your boat here it’s because we haven’t got a snap of it, post a copy on the forum and it will be transferred.

  1. Highlander 18 beam is only 6ft 4 – not much more than a Wayfarer so should be no problem launching as long as you are prepared to get your trailer wheels wet – the river is a bit low at the moment, so we may have to right to the end of the slipway!

  2. I haven’t spoken to Simon at Bart Turf Adventure Centre but I am aware that a 20′ yacht was launched on the Barton slipway last year so you should be ok. Its the beam that would be more critical.
I can only confirm what Chris has said – it would geat to see you at Barton. Full details of costs of meals and camping pitches etc will be posted a little nearer the date on the yahoo group initially.
    Regards
    Ian

  3. we are DCA members, and met some of you at the Cobnor rally last year. WE have a self built S/F Highlander 18.Have just found your website and would like to come to 2010 Barton turf rally

    • A “self built S/F Highlander 18” more than qualifies you as members of our non-organisation so you are most welcome. For all the latest on Barton (and our other meets) please sign up to the Group forum at http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/uk-hbbr/ where currently there is a discussion on a Broads cruise either the week before or after Barton. We already have a number of DCA members among our number so you may see a few familiar faces. At 18′ you may be too large for the slip at Barton Turf but there is a commercial yard adjacent which will be able to get you in the water. Look forward to seeing you there.
