hi I would like to know if anybody within this group has a cold molded constuction canoe, I have one and think they may be quite rare. Would a canoe like this be welcomed at one of your rallies in 2011. It has no tbeen afloat for several years, am working on it as i write hope to be on the water in the next couple of months. I will probably take it on the river Stour and the Medway. I would be interested in conversing with anyone who uses these two rivers to find the best slipways, stop off points, overnight camping spots etc etc. My canoe is a 14′ one, and is a two seater. I am a member of the Fordwich boat club which has premises opposite the Fordwich arms pub, it is more or less at the end of the navigation, but i think you could canoe a whole lot further towards Canterbury, perhaps someone in the group knows this area and could put me in the picture. I have been into wooden boats for about 20 years, and although recently retired i would like to do more I have read much about the delights of canoeing and hope to realise this in the Summer, if not earlier. Anyone interested in showing me the ropes i would be interested in hearing from you. Many Thanks Tony

Hi Tony,
Welcome – we would be very happy to see you at one, or more, of our meets. I would suggest that you sign up to and repost on the HBBR forum, just follow the link in the sidebar to the right or go through the forum page on the menu bar above. You will find more detail on Rally dates, building and boating chat there. Personally, I would be very interested in seeing your cold moulded canoe – I have intentions in that direction once the present stocks of ply in my shed are used up.
Cheers
Chris
